Having met our team at Grand Designs Live exhibition, the clients were satisfied that our sliding door system would provide them with the symmetry and functionality they wanted at their new build project in a luxury enclave in Tadworth, Surrey.

In particular, the clients were delighted with the slim sightline that could be achieved with Ultraline Sliding Doors. They described it as ‘the Rolls Royce’ of frameless sliding doors and felt it was ideal for creating the super-modern new build they had in mind.

As we always like to do for clarity, we provided the clients architect with the .DWG format drawings of our products, which enabled him to ‘drop in’ our products into the overall architectural scheme drawings. This ensured every detail was considered and every element was thoroughly planned out as well as giving the clients a better visual idea of how their ‘Grand Designs’ new build was shaping up.

Seeing everything in such detail made choosing the right product hassle free. After working closely with our experts, the clients decided they definitely wanted flush floor levels and floor to ceiling glass throughout – and the most minimal sightlines possible. To further reduce visual obstructions, we suggested glass to glass corners wherever possible. All easily achieved with the Ultraline sliding door system.

The customers were excited to create something supremely minimalistic that would still create a visual contrast with the off-white render of the building. Of the four colours available (RAL7021 matt, RAL9005 matt, RAL7016 matt and Brushed Platinum anodised), the client went for RAL9005 matt jet black.

Due to the difficult access issues on both the first and second floors, this job required every bit of our experience to get things done right, first time. To lift the large panes of glass we used specialist robot lifting equipment and an Oscar 600 off-road glazing robot, alongside six members of our team. This allowed us to  safely and efficiently handle and move the glass units perfectly into place. The result was a seamless installation of minimal and frameless sliding doors that work together to ensure a stunning effect.
