When we think of making renovations to a property, we often imagine homeowners hoping to add a little wow factor. But actually, more and more people are turning to property development as a side business or lucrative career. If you’re considering embarking on this path, it’s important to forge long term relationships with the right suppliers to ensure continued success. Which is why we’re always delighted to support luxury property developers – helping them transform their ingenious ideas into reality.
One of our latest projects involved us working closely with an expert in property development, and much valued long term customer. This particular client’s specialty is architecture. Their career involves purchasing plots of land, building beautiful houses and then selling before moving onto the next project. Because we’d worked with this client many times before, we were able to clearly understand the aesthetic she desired. Having this background information helped us to make a bespoke recommendation for frameless patio doors with ease.
With this client, we always start with an initial sketch. As per our regular arrangement, she sent through impeccably clear architectural drawings. These already included all of our Ultraline product drawings in .DWG format which made planning the specifications super simple. This also helped us see how the floor levels would work with the frameless patio doors.
After reviewing the drawings we were able to recommend a mixture of Ultraline Sliding Door moving panes, fixed panes, floating corners and glass to glass corners. This would help create a property with lots of interesting features and focal points, ticking all of our client’s boxes.
The colour scheme of this property was essential to finishing off the impressive aesthetic. We first suggested the customer have their frameless patio doors in Black Grey RAL7021 matt. This would nicely offset against the exterior concrete and interior decor. While brushed platinum is an on trend choice, it wouldn’t work in this case as it’s too similar to the concrete shade. We also felt that RAL7021 would be more complementary as it’s softer than the more striking RAL9005 jet black matt.
With a mixture of our frameless sliding doors as well as or folding doors, installation lasted for about a week in total, with our entire team staying in a nearby hotel to maximise productivity and increase working hours on site.
The final version of the property is stunning. Having created the much sought after glass box illusion, the property looks spectacular during the day and atmospheric by night.
The minimal sightlines help invite the lush surrounding greenery and natural light into the living zones, creating a relaxing space for all seasons. We can now look forward to the next exciting project with this talented architect!
